Free music workshops and activities in the Auditorium at An Lanntair from noon until 5pm "Come and Try" area with an assortment of instruments
If you want to take an instrument home with you from the workshops or "Come and Try" area, you can join the Music Broth library by signing up on the day or in advance at Musicbroth.org [MusicBroth.org]
For anyone joining the instrument library before 15th October, you can choose from 3000 items to reserve an instrument to be brought to An Lanntair for you from Glasgow.

Drums:
Try a drum kit for the first time, or get tips on technique and live performance hacks from our drum tutor Jenny.
Jenny is a touring musician with several bands and has been teaching drums for 10 years.
We will have 2 full drum kits, participants will each get a turn to try them and learn beginner, intermediate and a few advanced skills.
Bass: Learn Bass with Caroline! Caroline is an accomplished bassist who has performed live with many bands in many genres and styles. This workshop is suitable for bassists of all levels with around 4 bass guitars for workshop participants to share.
"Come and Try"/Loud Hour: Try our louder instruments without worry of interrupting workshops - drums and amplified instruments, brass will be available to try as well.
Rap Lyric Writing: Johnny Cypher is one of Scotland's most prominent grassroots musical activists. He uses his musical skill and passion for teaching to empower people to tell their stories and express themselves through rap and songwriting. Johnny has a fully-interactive setup for teaching many people at a time to find the best rhymes to express what they want to say in musical way.
Flute:
Learn with Jenny how to get sounds out of a classical flute, improve your skills, or try advanced tecniques such as singing while playing.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities and we will have around 6 flutes for people to use, with sanitising wipes between uses.
Industry Panel: Covering Booking Tours, Promotion, Music Journalism, Tech work, Studio work, Band Merch, Tips for surviving on tour, Building your band's presence online, Releasing your recorded music, Radio Plays, Searching for grants, and Writing Music for Commissions. Music Broth founder Jen O'Brien teams up with tutors JP, Jenny, Caroline and Johnny to share all of their collective knowledge in a Q A -style panel. This workshop is ideal for people interested in branching out into other area of the music industry or building up and progressing their musical project.
