Play & Create are informal sessions for those who’ve already attended the Playing with Sound Ableton workshops. These sessions are hands on and designed for group jams largely using electronic instruments (Ableton Push, Synths, Drum Machines, etc!). If you want to use this time to focus on working on an individual track instead and get feedback from the group that's fine too!

This is also an opportunity to bring the two Playing with Sound groups together, which I'm very excited about!

About the sessions

Each session will start with a theme to inspire our music-making. Some that come to mind are creating a song:

• using only a microphone and our voices
• as a soundtrack for a video
• based on a concept or an emotion
• inspired by a specific art piece (book, image, art installation).
• using only samples of animal sounds
• using only sounds from Music Broth's instruments
• with the aim of sonifying data or information.

You are of course also encouraged to bring your own ideas for themes.

These are drop-in sessions so if you can't make all of these dates that's completely fine.

ALBUM!

The tracks we create, both collaborative and individual, will be mixed, mastered, and featured on an album compilation to be released in January. All profits from the release will directly support Music Broth's free workshops.
